Did you know that March is women’s history month? A month dedicated to honoring the phenomenal contributions and vital roles of incredible women throughout history. This is a month where we have the privilege to honor women like: Claudette Colvin, Susie King Taylor, Maggie Lena Walker, Jane Matilda Bolin, Mary Church Terrell, Dorothy Irene Height, Harriet Tubman, Madam C. J. Walker, Bessie Coleman, Rosa Parks, Sojourner Truth, Ida B. Wells, Coretta Scott King, Maya Angelou, Michelle Obama and the list goes on and on.

Recognizing these women and so many others in the important strides they have made throughout history to enhance our culture brings me so much joy. They remind me of our ability as individuals to be the salt of the earth and the light of the world (Matthew 5:13-14 NIV). We’ve made it to March and I believe that this month, God desires for us to release our abilities as individuals. There are three areas that God spoke to me about us releasing our ability in this month: management, investment, and creation.

So yall know I had to ask God to point me in the direction of a woman in the bible who embodied the ability to release her management, investment and creative skills. God immediately pointed me to one of my favorite women in the bible, the Proverbs 31 woman. What I love about her is that she inspires me to be a better version of myself daily. She was the epitome of a manager, investor, creator and so much more. The bible in Proverbs 31:10-31 NIV describes her.

10 A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies. 11 Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value. 12 She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life. 13 She selects wool and flax and works with eager hands. 14 She is like the merchant ships, bringing her food from afar. 15 She gets up while it is still night; she provides food for her family and portions for her female servants. 16 She considers a field and buys it; out of her earnings she plants a vineyard. 17 She sets about her work vigorously; her arms are strong for her tasks. 18 She sees that her trading is profitable, and her lamp does not go out at night. 19 In her hand she holds the distaff and grasps the spindle with her fingers. 20 She opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands to the needy. 21 When it snows, she has no fear for her household; for all of them are clothed in scarlet. 22 She makes coverings for her bed; she is clothed in fine linen and purple. 23 Her husband is respected at the city gate, where he takes his seat among the elders of the land. 24 She makes linen garments and sells them, and supplies the merchants with sashes. 25 She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. 26 She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue. 27 She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. 28 Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: 29 “Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.” 30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. 31 Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.

Management has to do with us being good stewards over the things that God has blessed us with. One of the first things that God does after creating man is He places him in the Garden of Eden to manage it. Genesis 2:15 NIV reads, “The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it”. This month God needs you to recognize that He has delegated you with a responsibility to work your ground by managing what He has placed in your hands. One of the things that I love about the Proverbs 31 woman is that she knew how to properly steward her resources that God blessed her with. The bible tells us that she was skilled at managing her household and her time (Proverbs 31:27 NIV). She went out of her way to provide food for her family and she made sure that there were portions for her female servants as well (Proverbs 31:14-15 NIV).

The Proverbs 31 woman was wise when it came to investing because she recognized that investing was the idea of sowing what she already had. The bible tells us that she didn’t just know how to properly invest her money (Proverbs 31:16 NIV, Proverbs 31:18 NIV), but she knew how to invest her time (Proverbs 31:27 NIV), she knew how to invest her service (Proverbs 31:20 NIV), and she knew how to invest her words (Proverbs 31:26 NIV). Think about the different things in your life that God has blessed you with that you can invest or sow into because God is calling you to invest this month.

This is also a month where God desires for you to create. The Proverbs 31 woman knew how to build and produce with every resource she had access to. The bible tells us that after investing in a field, with her earnings she created a vineyard, something that she understood had the ability to keep producing (Proverbs 31:16 NIV). She made coverings for her bed (Proverbs 31:22 NIV), and she made linen garments and sold them (Proverbs 31:24 NIV). Create this month, like the Proverbs 31 woman or like Noah did with the ark so that you can be prepared for what God is planning to send into your life. Creation is preparation that will help to produce success when the right moment arrives. Create the business plan. Create healthy habits. Create the content. Create new boundaries. Create the door of opportunity or the table. Create, with every gift and talent that God has blessed you with. Create, and watch God take care of the rest.

There is someone reading this blog wondering: How do I manage what I have? How do I invest with what I have? How do I create with what I have? Seek and trust God. God is who will give you wisdom in each one of these areas of your life specifically as it pertains to you. He will begin to provide you with vision and direction as He promised in Isaiah 48:17 NIV when He stated, “I am the Lord your God, who teaches you what is best for you in the way you should go”. This means that to operate in excellence when you are managing, investing and creating, you have to know that God is your compass. Even when you think you may not know enough or you think you may not have enough, God can bless exactly what you do have to go further than you could possibly ever fathom.

It was God who placed Adam in the Garden of Eden to begin managing and working it (Genesis 2:15 NIV). It was God who gave Joseph vision and revelation on how to properly invest Egypt’s resources so that when a famine hit, they had plenty (Genesis 41 NIV). It was God who spoke to Noah about building and creating an ark that ultimately protected lineage here on earth (Genesis 6:9-22 NIV, Genesis 7:1-24 NIV, Genesis 8:1-22 NIV). This month, God is going to lead you on how to manage, invest and create. All He needs you to do, is release your ability to manage, invest and create with everything He has already given you.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father,

We celebrate you and all that you are in our lives. Thank you for blessing us with the opportunity to learn from your word which is the way, the truth and the life. Forgive us for not managing or investing our time, our thought patterns, and our resources in a way that would honor you. Uproot our fleshly mannerisms and purify our hearts. Father let this word marinate through our spirit and in our soul this month encouraging us to release our ability to manage, invest and create. We surrender our lives to you and seek your will in all that we do so you may show us which paths to take (Proverbs 3:6 NLT). We declare a spirit of production and productivity over our lives in the mighty name of Jesus. Lord we will steward, sow, produce and create through your guidance and wisdom in this season, for you are our Father who is in complete control and we trust you. Empower and equip us like never before, in Jesus name we pray, amen.
