I remember when God initially gave me the vision to start DistinctlyBlessed, I was in total shock and questioned God profusely. I wondered why I had been chosen to carry out such a major task and remember thinking to myself, “who am I to be starting a spiritual website with a blog to help motivate and inspire others?” I was barely entering into my 4th month on my new spiritual journey with God. I had made many mistakes along the way and was definitely still going through a daily learning process.

“11 But Moses said to God, ‘Who am I, that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the Israelites out of Egypt?’ 12 And God said, ‘I will be with you…..’”
In reading the scripture above, we can see how even Moses stopped and questioned his abilities when God called him out and assigned him with the specific task to save his people from the Egyptians.
For everyone who has experienced a moment like this, here is what I believe God wants you to know. When God has called you to set out and do an assigned mission, simply answer with a YES and DO IT. It’s unnecessary to question your ability to do what God has called you to do for the simple fact that God called you to do it.
As God assured Moses, he assures you. God has the ability to always provide an overflowing supply of whatever you may need to fulfill the mission he has called you to do, he will always protect you and he will never leave your side.
During bible study one Thursday, I remember hearing my pastor mention this, “God never calls you to anything your equal, if he tells you to step into the boxing ring, its bigger than you, if he challenges you to start something, it’s beyond your education….. God never calls you to easy”.
Remember that you don’t have to be perfect to be successful or to do what God has called you to do. "But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong." (1 Corinthians 1:27 NIV). Simply be true to who you are (authenticity is key) and follow along the pathway that God has created for you, he will take care of the rest. As you move forth with carrying out the mission you are assigned with, it won’t be easy but as my pastor mentioned, God does not call us to easy. Instead, God intentionally stretches us outside of our comfort zone in order to broaden our scope and introduce us to new opportunities so that we can optimize our gifts and talents that he has blessed each and every single one of us with.
It is up to you to completely trust God’s process no matter where it may take you and to be obedient to his commands. Stop honing in on negative aspects and the possibilities of: “setbacks”, “failures”, “disappointments”, struggles” or even “discouragement from others”, when you’re called to do something. Instead, start looking at the underlying resourceful windows of opportunity that lie within each one of your faults so you can begin to take initiative confidently and obey Gods every command when he calls.
Heavenly father,
Thank you for being such a wondrous God. I want you to know that I recognize the honor in being strategically handpicked, singled out and chosen by you. Thank you for calling me. Bowing before you, I pray for complete renewal. Search the depths of my inner being so that you may begin to remove all of my impure spirits from my bodily flesh, my soul and my mind. Empty me completely so that you can gradually begin to fill me up. Fill me up with your holy spirit so that you can utilize my flesh as a living vessel and work through me. Fill me up with courage and unwavering trust so that fear no longer resides within me when I am called to carry out a mission on your behalf. Fill me up with wisdom and discernment so that I may be able to know which decisions to make in order to stay along your righteous path while carrying out missions for you. Open my ears and open my eyes so that at all times I may be able to hear you clearly and see every window of opportunity that may lead to a new possibility to better serve you Lord. Lastly, I ask that you feel me up with an imperishable source of courage and confidence so that when called upon, I never stop to question my own capabilities. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
